Terms
Last updated 28 October 2026
These terms cover PARAGON, the game, and this website. PARAGON is made by Neon Atlas Ltd (“we”, “us”). By playing, you agree to them. We’ve tried to keep them short and plain.
1. The game
PARAGON is a game set in a fictional city. You guide an AI character, and the game’s rules decide what happens. Your game is stored on our servers, so it needs an internet connection. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to play it. The game, its world, art, writing and code belong to us or the people we license them from.
2. Accounts and usernames
- You can play without an account. If you make one, keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- Your username may be shown to other players, for example on Daily City results. It mustn’t be offensive, pretend to be someone else, or include someone’s personal details.
- Players can report a username. We may change or remove a username that breaks these terms, and suspend or close an account that keeps breaking them.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app or by emailing us.
3. Using PARAGON fairly
Please don’t:
- cheat, or use bots, scripts or modified apps to play or to get an advantage in the Daily City;
- attack, overload or try to get around the security of the game, our servers or this website;
- try to get the game’s AI writing to produce harmful, hateful or illegal material, or real-world instructions for causing harm;
- use the game to harass anyone, or put anyone’s personal details into it;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the game, except where the law allows it.
If you do, we may limit or end your access to the game.
4. AI-written text
Much of the writing in PARAGON, such as what happens, what people say and the town news, is generated by an AI model as you play. It’s fiction. It may sometimes be wrong, odd or inconsistent with the game, and it isn’t advice of any kind. The game’s rules, not the writing, decide what actually happens in your game. Schemes and other wrongdoing in the game are fiction and are never described as real methods. If something it writes seems inappropriate, please tell us.
5. Membership
- PARAGON is free to play. Membership is an optional subscription that adds more of the game. What it includes is described in the app and on our home page.
- Membership is sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), under their terms. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your store’s subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- If a membership ends, your game is kept, and member schemes and extra staff pause until you rejoin.
- Fair use applies to AI writing for members, as described in the app. After the daily limit, the rules tell the story in plain lines until the next day.
- If we change the price, we’ll say so in advance through the store, and you can cancel before it applies.
6. No real money in the game
Funds, tokens, GPUs and everything else in the game are part of the game. They have no real-world value, can’t be bought, sold, traded or exchanged for money, and aren’t your property. We never sell them.
7. Availability and changes to the game
We’re still making PARAGON, and we’ll keep changing it: adding things, rebalancing numbers and sometimes removing features. We try to keep the game running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of bugs. If we ever close PARAGON for good, we’ll give members reasonable notice.
8. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we’re not responsible for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen, for losses caused by things outside our control, or for business losses, since PARAGON is for personal play. Where we are responsible, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for membership in the 12 months before the problem.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the game changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll tell you in the app or by email. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can stop playing and delete your account.
10. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If there’s a dispute, the courts of England and Wales can hear it, but if you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
